Welcome to The Lotus Sanctuary – a centre for holistic living in South Oxfordshire

Our vision is simple: to offer yoga, meditation and sustainability courses based on principles and practices to nurture ourselves and our environment thereby promoting a more positive spiritual and Earth friendly lifestyle to benefit our generation and future generations.  We provide a beautiful location, warm personalised service and a suitable environment to facilitate our courses.

Nestling in a secluded valley in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty near The Ridgeway about 1 hour from London and 30 minutes from Oxford, we are a small and friendly centre.

The setting brings a deep connection with the natural world that immeasurably enhances the benefits of yoga and meditation practice and is a beautiful place for all our courses. The vast and gently rolling North Wessex Downs lie on our doorstep.  Feel the timelessness of the place and find some space to enjoy peace, solitude and time in nature to reconnect and reflect on your life.

The grounds of around an acre make an ideal venue for a yoga retreat or exploring meditation.   There is a 45-square metre yoga and meditation studio housed in a delightful log cabin with far reaching views over the valley and the Downs.

The Centre has a beautiful wild flower meadow, vegetable garden and orchard perfect for teaching our courses promoting sustainability.

The Paddock at The Lotus Sanctuary

Operating on a small-scale basis enables us to give more individual attention to participants and a more flexible, personalised approach according to their needs and resources.

On offer are classes, workshops and retreats in yoga and meditation and a programme of courses focusing on sustainability and low-impact, land-based skills for changing modern life.

Simple but delicious vegetarian meals are provided. Our food is locally grown (some home grown here) and organic where possible.   We compost as much of the food waste as we can.  Our food is our medicine so we offer wholesome and delicious vegetarian food based on principles of Ayurveda (the ancient Indian system of medicine), designed to balance your body’s constitution and cultivate peace of mind.

Residential (local accommodation) and non-residential options are available. If you would like to have a retreat designed specifically for your needs and interests, please contact us.
